Starting a clone in Windows modifies your bootloader so that after the reboot it launches Acronis from the same disk as where the OS is installed.

Shows File System Unknown with a status of unmounted. I will first show you results of Gparted below when I opened it up: I made USB “SystemRescueCD” which contains many useful tools which I am new to. Here’s what I have tried to get my valuable files back so far and yes “No Backup” (Shame on me). I have never had this happen to me using Acronis. It looks to me that it wrote to C: and now it is messed up. I started the process again and got the same message again and this time I did reboot and now I have MBR 1, 2, and 3 errors asking me to hit enter to boot from floppy (which is not present). This was strange something that normally does not happen so I canceled all actions and rebooted my laptop.

Started the process and after a minute (Short time) I got a message saying I needed to reboot my PC for me to continue action.
Also I double and triple checked that my source and destination paths were 100% correct and they were. All of this like I have done in the past many times. Chose Disk 3 F: for source, chose Disk 2 E: for destination. Disk 1 C: 228GB, Disk 2 E: 80GB, and Disk 3 F: 80GB. Opened up Acronis True Image 2014, Picked Clone Drive. Checked contents of (F) All system files were there. In Windows Explorer system assigned drive letter (F) to Source and (E) to Destination. I use two IDE to USB 2.0 adapters for setup. A week ago I tried cloning a laptop hard drive like I have done many times in the past.

I have a Dell Latitude E5440 running W7 Pro 64bit. Maybe Acronis could propose a ready-made ISOLINUX installation for Mac Users. in the text menu that comes up, select "User defined" and in the next submenu: "Acronis Home Image 2012"ĪTIH cannot write to HFS partitions, so you need to have a second NTFS volume or a large enough USB stick to copy the Bootcamp backup onto. It requires a little doing, though, because one needs to transfer the program from the USB Rescue Media that one creates with Acronis onto a Syslinux/isolinux boot cd.ġ) Create the Acronis Rescue Media onto a USB stickĢ) Download the iso image of the open source "Ultimate Boot CD" version 5.1ģ) Install an ISO image editor such as "iso master"ĥ) Locate the directory /ubcd/custom/ on the isoĦ) create a directory called something like "athi2012" and copy the files "dat2.dat" and "dat3.dat" from the Acronis Rescue Media into this new directory. In spite of what is said above, I found that Acronis True Image Home 2012 works very well on my MacPro (1,1) for backing up and restoring the Bootcamp partition.
